It’s Labor Day Weekend – 2018

It’s LaborLabor Day Weekend - 2018
Day Weekend!

Labor Day began on September 5, 1882 with a worker’s march from City Hall to Union Square in New York City and was it was declared a federal holiday in 1894.

Celebrated with parades down main streets in cities all around the country followed by picnics, barbeques and speeches, Labor Day now symbolizes the end of summer and, especially in Virginia, the beginning of the school year. Virginia legislation known informally as The Kings Dominion Act officially requires most state schools to begin after the Monday holiday.

Race fans look for The Southern 500 NASCAR at Darlington Raceway and and the NHRA drag race finals atIndianapolis Raceway Park
