Immortalize your nearest and dearest in a work of art with Christine Morgan at GetchaSketch. Christine will work from your favorite photo or maybe you’ll enjoy something from her floral collection. Check her out this week!
After visiting Old Beach Art and Eco Market on Saturday, give some thought to attending the 40th Annual Sandbridge Volunteer Rescue Squad Pig Pickin‘ at Little Island Park.
There’ll be lots of good food and a few of our favorite folks like The Trash-Sea Mermaid mother daughter team of Lori and Katelyn. 10% discount if you buy your ticket online!
You don’t have to say goodbye to summer quite yet. Take the beach home with you with some nautical whimsy fromShadowlawn Sheree’s.
HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE:

through October!
Be sure to say hello to Suzanne Jeffers.
Suzanne is a regular vendor with us and you’re probably already aware of her beautiful photographs – many of which are framed and wall ready.
Her work reflects her belief in mindful moments. This is an easy way to add a calming influence to your living space.
Gold was discovered in the Klondike in 1896 and more than 100,000 people headed north to find their fortune. Few miners did but $$$ were made by saloon owners and equipment suppliers!
In 1959 Hawaii became our 50th state.
5 years later, Mary Poppins began her rule as everyone’s favorite movie nanny
and Saturday is “S’mores Day”.
That alone makes August bearable.
Saturday’s weather looks pretty good so get out of the house and come see us!
Plan to attend the opening reception for In Plein Sight at The Virginia Beach Art Center on Saturday, August 17th from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm. Virginia Beach area artists including our very own Karen Laurie Thomas will each have paintings on display. In addition to the exhibition, artists will be painting outdoors “ en plein air” Saturday morning and exhibiting their creations along with the rest of the artworks in the exhibition. Should be a terrific way to spend the evening.
August isn’t known for much.
No Fireworks
No National Holidays
No 3 Day Weekends
but some interesting things happened in August.

Her jewelry designs are earthy, hippie, stone driven. Yet, can be edgy, leather bond, and heavy metal filled. Get in touch with your inner metalhead and check out Kimberly’s jewelry this Saturday.
