Virginia Beach is enjoying a beautiful week – the kind of weather we only dreamed of not so long ago. It’s another great day to shop at Old Beach.
Feeling like it’s all going to the dogs?
Well, that’s because it is!
Tomorrow is Dog Day at Old Beach Markets
Dogs are always welcome at Old Beach but especially tomorrow. Don’t come alone – bring your best friend for treats and products dedicated to them. For instance, look at the 100% untreated cotton macrame rope chew toys for the dogs in your life – available at The Bohemery and the lovely pendant – created by Keli At The Water’s Edge – for you or your sweetie.
Best of all, the pendant could be yours for free. Stop by At The Water’s Edge to enter the drawing and to snag a treat for your dog. Drawing is at 11:30 and you don’t have to be present to win.
There’s a costume contest and your pup could win – just register at the Old Beach Market tent and have a picture taken at It all started with a fig. The winner will be chosen by a poll of Old Beach customers.
THIS WEEK’S MARKET
Saturday’s forecast calls for another lovely September day.
The Art Market looks lovely, too.
We’ll have ContraVan, Kym Bach (welcome back, Kym), Shannon Calley,
Teresa Hartman, Suzanne Jeffers, Maria Kuntz , Keli Hindenach and our Marvelous Market Manager –Ashley Smith plus newcomer Lauren Goldrich.
Lauren will paint your face for a pittance. You could come away looking just like your dog!

THIS WEEK’S MARKET
Pretty dramatic picture, huh. One of Kay Reid’s limited edition prints (and my personal favorite). Come meet Kay tomorrow as she joins a wonderful array of artists at Old Beach Markets – 19th Street at Cypress Avenue in Virginia Beach.
Tomorrow’s weather could go either way. Remember you can check our Facebook page for up to the minute announcements.
Others you can expect to see tomorrow include Bob Wright/Beth Wray, Acara Phipps, Shannon Calley, Jessamyn Manzeralla, Lindsay Kearns, Marisa Kuntz, Teresa Hartman and Cerrone Wooling plus Market Manager Ashley Smith (of course) and ContraVan.
You’re invited to bring your lunch and Picnic on the Patio at Croc’s 19th Street Bistro. There’ll be lots of opportunities to add to your meal at Old Beach Farmer’s Market.
Bet you didn’t know that Christina at Old Beach Green Market might just be your ticket to a loving family pet. She fosters four legged creatures looking for new homes. Doesn’t always have one available but you might find a match made in heaven. Meet Walter tomorrow (weather permitting). He’s an older chihuahua with a great personality. He loves snuggling, walking, bike riding and gets along well with other dogs.
The ViBe Creative District Crosswalk Paining has been rescheduled for NEXT Saturday, August 19th.
Artist early registration for The 55th Annual Ocean View Art Show in October ends on August 15th. 55 years – they’re doing something right!

A weekend to celebrate – how lucky we are to have The 4th of July to celebrate. As John Adams predicted, Independence Day is warmly greeted from coast to coast with All American Fervor, Fireworks and Parades. He didn’t guess hot dogs and hamburgers but who could have?
Artists out for a patriotic market tomorrow will be Kym Bach, Shannon Calley, Lori Cicogna, Amy Cummings, Hillary Davenport, Marisa Kuntz, Nick Halleran, Melissa Laverdiere, Acara Phipps, Kay Reid, Mallorie Terranova, Bob Wright and our Wonderful Market Manager – Ashley Smith – plus ContraVan and new to Old Beach – Mike Smack.
After visiting Old Beach, you might be interested in Cultured 2k17: A Utopia Feni Arts + Music Festival in Kempsville. When you go, be sure to look for Ashley and Jessamyn Manzeralla.
Old Beach Green Market and Old Beach Farmer’s Market are looking good this week, too.
Stars & Stripes Explosion on July 4th is worth checking out. The Quantico Marine Corps Band‘s Concert Band and Rock Band will be at the main 24th Street beach stage on the 4th as part of Beach Street USA
We’ll be looking for you on Saturday.
