Put on your most patriotic accessories and visit the
Memorial Day Weekend
Old Beach Art Market –
Memorial Day, once known as Decoration Day,
started in earnest around the time of the
American War Between the States.
The date for Memorial Day was chosen specifically
because it was not the date of any significant battle and therefore remembers all who died in defense of our country.
It became an official Federal Holiday in 1971.
Old Beach Art Market takes a moment to
thank the BRAVE who keep us FREE.
Lots of pretty things to catch your eye, brought to you by:
Kym Bach
Shannon Calley
Lori Cicogna
Amy Cummings
Hillary Davenport
Carla Fuller
Suzanne Jeffers
Tommi Long

and, in their Art Market Debut –

wire-wrapped in sterling silver and copper
Shannon Calley/Calley Coastal Jewelry and Art, Carla Fuller/Gypsy Soul Boutique, Marisa Kuntz/The Bohemery, Ashley Smith and Teresa Hartman/YardArt will be waiting to see you in the morning. Please stop by and say hello.
After visiting the Old Beach Markets, wander down to the 17th Street Marketplace. See OBAM favorites like Shannon Calley and Carla Fuller after OBAM closes.
Another fun stop would be The VB Flea – behind Three Ships Coffee on 19th Street just east of the Old Beach Markets.
Lots of good reasons to come to Old Beach tomorrow.
And next week –
19th Street will have a different look on Saturday, October 28th. The Anthem Wicked 10K begins at 8:00 a.m. going east on 19th. A costume contest is part of this event so it’s usually good for some laughs.
No OBAM – no EBLAST so our next note will be on November 17th. Until then….
With thanks for copy to Old Beach Farmer’s Market:
Parking is generously donated by these local businesses and city parking lots: the grass lot behind Wave Riding Vehicles along 19th Street; the Runnymede parking lots along Cypress Avenue at 20th and 21st Streets; and the Virginia Beach Convention Center lot at 19th Street and Parks Avenue. On-street parking is now available along 18th Street west of Cypress Avenue.
Motorists who park in other lots or who block driveways do so risking tickets and towing, including the Wareing’s Gym and Mary’s parking lots on Cypress Avenue at 18th and 17th Streets.
We’ll see you on 19th Street next month – November 21, 2017
Plenty of time for YOU to participate. Contact OldBeachArtMarket@Hardysinc.com for information.

ARTS MAKE A MAJOR ECONOMIC IMPACT IN VIRGINIA BEACH
Did you know that last year, the arts generated $87.7 million in Virginia Beach alone?
This spending supported 2,875 jobs, generated $52.5 million in income to local residents and returned about $7 million to local and state governments in the form of tax revenues.
This data was recently shared in the Arts & Economic Prosperity 5 study conducted by Americans for the Arts and supported by The Ruth Lilly Fund of Americans for the Arts.
